The Graduate School “Contours of a New World Order” was established in January 2014 and is jointly operated by the University of the Bundeswehr München (University of German Armed Forces Munich), the University of St. Gallen and the Hanns Seidel Foundation. The participants of the Graduate School focus on crucial issues of current world affairs, aiming to find theoretical and empirical answers. The PhD program employs an interdisciplinary approach, which comprises political science, law, sociology, and other relevant disciplines.

 

The Graduate School offers:

  • a structured doctoral program within an excellent research environment
  • various opportunities for academic exchange between its participants and with several versed academics
  • a wide array of additional events such as colloquia, weekend seminars, and lectures of academics and practitioners
  • doctoral scholarships provided by the Hanns Seidel Foundation

 

The program is headed by the following professors:

  • Prof. Dr. Carlo Masala (University of the Bundeswehr München)
  • Prof. James Davis, Ph.D. (University of St. Gallen)
  • Prof. Dr. Reinhard Meier-Walser (Hanns Seidel Foundation)
  • Prof. Hans-Peter Niedermeier (Hanns Seidel Foundation)

Several other scientists are associated.
